STATEMENT: PLATING UP WA 2026

The Buy West Eat Best program wishes to advise that the annual Plating Up WA campaign will take a planned pause in 2026.

Following a review of current priorities and resourcing, a considered decision has been made not to proceed with full campaign execution and delivery in 2026, including venue participation, media, ingredient register and launch event.

After seven successful years showcasing Western Australia’s incredible chefs, venues and producers, the campaign will undergo a comprehensive design refresh and strategic redevelopment.

This next phase will help to ensure Plating Up WA remains relevant and delivers meaningful value to venues, producers, and audiences into the future.

In the meantime, the team’s focus will shift to strengthening the campaign platform and creative direction, ensuring that the next iteration of Plating Up WA is aligned with the evolving needs of industry and audiences.

Buy West Eat Best remains deeply committed to supporting Western Australia’s food, beverage, hospitality, and agribusiness sectors. While Plating Up WA will take a break in 2026, broader Buy West Eat Best activity will continue as planned, and the team will keep members and stakeholders informed of developments.

Over the 7 years PUWA has run, over 300 venues have participated statewide (and in Singapore) from across the regions, including Gascoyne, Goldfields, Esperance, Fremantle, Great Southern, Kimberley, Mid-West, Peel, Perth Hills, Perth Metro, Pilbara, Southwest, Southern Forests and Swan Valley.

This decision has not been made lightly. It reflects careful consideration of program priorities, stakeholder expectations, and long-term sustainability.

We sincerely thank our chefs, venues, members, and campaign partners for their ongoing support, including the current refresh input and look forward to sharing and working with you all to deliver the next chapter of Plating Up WA, returning winter 2027!
